It's Olympic knitting time!!

The laundry is done.  The house is as tidy as it can be really with 2 boys barreling around.  The hubby is on a two week paternity leave starting today at 5pm.  The take out order has been placed for tonight.  Friends and relatives have been notified of my hermit status for the next 2 weeks.  And my Ravelympics project is on standby...


That's right!  It's Olympic knitting time bay-bee and I can barely contain all my excitement:  all that knitting, all that cheering, all that pride in hosting the games, all that guilt-free telly watching for hours on end while completely ignoring all household chores....  Just bliss!

I'll be competing in the sweaterboard event on Ravelry and attempting to knit a (heavily modified) Sesame cardigan for myself from stash Rowan All-Seasons cotton and another mini version for Abbey in 17 days.

Can barely wait until 9 tonight to cast on!  These will be the best games ever!!

Go, Canada, Go!

    although i have "watched" with excitement previous Knitting Olympics events, i have not yet represented my country...and i would LOVE to this time round, but i misssed the cast on opening ceremonies (due to a previous engagement)... does anyone know enough about the official rules to know if this disqualifies me from participating? do they do "late entries" in the olympics???

  4. You can totally do late entries... you just can't do late finishes, LOL! Just open a new project in Ravelry and enter the tag "ravelympics2010"

  5. I had been a longtime lurker on your blog before your break last February. I would periodically check back in the hopes that you'd posted again. We are Ravelry "friends" (I am LGordon555) and was so excited to see your new baby in projects there. Imagine my excitement when a blog friend pointed me back to your latest posts here.     OMG, you're back. I've checked every couple of weeks since last February, hoping you'd return. (Actually, I'm old, an anxious type and not technologically savvy, so I was hoping you'd just sign on and say you weren't dead in a ditch somewhere, which is what a blogland silence always makes me fear.)

My daughter is Abby (short for Abigail - because my middle name Gail) and my beautiful granddaughter that I now knit for is Ariel! Don't you love names!   60. yeah my mother have a similar tradition for each sport event, for example for the fifa soccer world cup of the last year, she made us to my brother and I some caps with the symbol of our favorite teams.
